Monday, February 5, 2024: Mental Health and Seniors
The Advocacy Committee thanks Shannon Patton for the preparations and Diana Hawryluk for stepping in to present the session on Seniors and Mental Health when Shannon was no longer able to present.
Diana Hawryluk is a registered professional planner with over 25 years of experience and is the Principal of Veracity Planning Solutions Inc. In 2021 Diana went through her own significant mental journey. Always an advocate for mental health, this was the first time Diana was able to fully understand the impacts mental health illness can have on a person. Diana sought treatment in early 2022 and as part of her healing journey committed to herself the following three goals: -Host a women’s retreat on mental health awareness.
-Go on a mission’s trip.
-Volunteer and bring her expertise both professionally and personally to help advocate for mental health awareness and programming.
Diana successfully completed all her initial goals and in May of 2022 was elected to the Board of the Canadian Mental Health Association Regina Branch as a Director and in June of 2023 became the Vice Chair of the Board and the Chair of the Capital Campaign Committee. In her spare time Diana enjoys spending time with her daughter and family, volunteering, golfing and being out at the lake which is her “Happy Place”.
