Impact of 2017-2018 Provincial Budget on the STS

  1. Be It Resolved that the STS determine the financial impact on the organization and its members of the changes in the provincial sales tax and any other changes affecting the STS made by the Government of Saskatchewan in the 2017-2018 provincial budget and share this information with the membership.

  2. Be It Resolved that the STS develop and implement an advocacy and communication strategy to assist individual members, the Chapters and the STS to effectively communicate the findings and related concerns to the provincial government.

Background

The March 22nd Provincial Budget implications for the operation of the STS and for individual members appear to be significant. It was not possible with a March 1 resolutions deadline to anticipate the tax changes made by the Province in the March 22, 2017 Budget.
